There are some academicians who oppose the privatization of education vehemently, whereas the others favour it, keeping in mind the need of the hour. Chetan Bhagat, a best- selling novelist emerges on the literary scenario as a thinker, having a balanced view of it.

The study discovers that the novelist firmly believes that the privatization of education would be beneficial for the society, if some good quality players actively participate in it.

He does not only raise the questions, but comes out with remedial ways. The significance of this study is that it opens up the discourse on the future of education in the developing world, including Nigeria. The more competitive the industry, the greater the improvement in output, profitability, and efficiency.

Such efficiency gains mean a one-off increase in GDP, but through improved incentives to innovate and reduce costs also tend to raise the rate of economic growth. Although typically there many costs associated with these efficiency gains, many economists argue that these can be dealt with by appropriate government support through redistribution and perhaps retraining.

Yet, the empirical literature suggests that privatization could also have very modest effects on efficiency and quite regressive distributive impact. In a comprehensive social welfare analysis of the British privatization program under the Conservative governments of Margaret Thatcher and John Major, Massimo Florio points to the absence of any productivity shock resulting strictly from ownership change. Instead, the impact of the UK privatization program had surprisingly small effects on firms and most employees, and generally harmed taxpayers and most consumers.

Privatizations in Russia and Latin America were accompanied by large-scale corruption during the sale of the state-owned companies. Those with political connections unfairly gained large wealth, which has discredited privatization in these regions. While media have reported widely the grand corruption that accompanied the sales, studies have argued that in addition to increased operating efficiency, daily petty corruption is, or would be, larger without privatization, and that corruption is more prevalent in non-privatized sectors.

Privatization may have several meanings. Primarily, it is the process of transferring ownership of a business, enterprise, agency, public service or public property from the public sector a government to the private sector, either to a business that operates for a profit or to a nonprofit organization.

It may also mean government outsourcing of services or functions to private firms, e. Privatization has also been used to describe two unrelated transactions. The first is the buying of all outstanding shares of a publicly traded company by a single entity, making the company privately owned. This is often described as private equity. The second is a demutualization of a mutual organization or cooperative to form a joint-stock company.

Revolution as the name says has very little than what the name actually says but still Chetan Bhagat taking steps to provide youthful solution of reducing corruption is appreciated. A lot of children are killing their dreams due to the herd mentality. Corruption as situated roams around the government and the politicians in Indian. The contemporary Indian is full with corruption which as limit her growth in the global economy. Indian is one of the highest populated countries in the world but with high rate of illiteracy.

The establishment of private colleges in which the government has put in place procedures like elaborate approval processes and regular inspections.

However, these are abused and corruption is rife. Many private college owners have been paying bribes at every stage of opening the college from getting land and building approvals, to approving the course plan and to set fee structures.

Also it will explain the effect of privatization in the life of Indian youth and how it has made them to fulfill their ambitions in one way or the other and why most of them lose hope in education. It will also look into the roles and step taken by the government in establishing a standard procedure for this private colleges and how it has been misused by the corrupt government officials in Indian.

The restructuring of the education sector with its attendant implications and complications portrays how corruption infiltrates into personal affairs increasing. Most of this are the features of third world countries, the issue of corruption as been the major issue in third world states which leads to there low rate of development in social, economical and politically. And the only option to solve the situation is for a transformed and reformed society. Also, this study helps in redefining the use of privatization in global educational system.

The study gives an insight on how privatization, ambition, love and corruption had been carried along with its level of patronage and high rate of private ownership of schools in the present generations of Indian whereby contributing to the growth of Indian. The scope of the study also, shows how the industry is been funded for proper recognition in the international community in strengthening the co-existence of participants by its potentials to forge ahead amidst its ill recognition.

The internet in particular played a vital role. Corruption is the act of corrupting or of impairing integrity, virtue, or moral principle; depravity; wickedness; impurity; bribery. Also an act of corrupting or making putrid, or state of being corrupt or putrid, decomposition or disorganization, in the process of putrefaction; deterioration. Rupa publication, Yet, it will be preferable to give a brief definition of privatization. The mushrooming of private colleges in India is conspicuous.

From the hoarding to the full page advertisement and the wall stickers, a mortal soul will find it difficult to divert his mind from the lucrative schemes they offer. The business tycoons, the local shop owners and the leisurely housewives all find the business of teaching a convenient means to earn moolahs Kothari While exploring what is imbedded in privatization of education in this contemporary age and to what effect to the future of the young generation.

Privatization may have several meanings; primarily it is the process of transferring ownership of a business, enterprise, agency, public service, or public property from the public sector a government to the private sector, either to a business that operates for a profit or to a nonprofit organization. Consequently, enrollment in private schools, colleges, and universities, is on the rise. The reason this is possible is the difference in approach between the two. The public education system following a top-down approach is accountable only to the government machinery.

So even if the teachers in public schools don't deliver a good quality education, they don't suffer themselves because their jobs are secure. However, in the case of private schools run through a bottom-up approach the management and the teachers are directly accountable to the respective parents. If they fail to deliver an expected quality of education, the parents would react. They might even pull out their wards from the school. Consequently, the teachers would lose their jobs.

So a private school has to deliver a good quality education. In fact, they do it better than majority of the public schools. So privatization of the primary and secondary educational systems can help ameliorate the situation by improving the quality of education while reducing the cost. Hence, one can't advocate for a blanket privatization of the entire educational system without taking care of the cost.

However, given the present scenario, an alternative system which provides a better education, without over-burdening the poor parents, needs to be put in place. Now the question is: What this system should look like? The challenges of introducing such a system will be manifold. First, the government needs to make sure that schools exist in every locality. Left to the entrepreneurs themselves, they may fight to open too many schools in high-income localities where the students will be better compared to the low income localities.

So the policy makers must ensure that low income localities also get a due share of the schools. The government must direct and incentivize the program so that marginalized areas are not left out. The second challenge is to ensure quality.

Although the private schools, in general, are better than their public counterparts, but relying too much on them can also be costly. The quality of the private schools also varies significantly. While some of them may provide a good quality education at a reasonable cost, others may end up becoming money-making machines without caring for the quality of education.

So the government should come up with an effective mechanism to determine, monitor, and control the quality of education in the private system. In the Roman Republic private individuals and companies performed the majority of services including tax collection tax farming , army supplies military contractors , religious sacrifices and construction.

However, the Roman Empire also created state-owned enterprises—for example, much of the grain was eventually produced on estates owned by the Emperor. Some scholars suggest that the cost of bureaucracy was one of the reasons for the fall of the Roman Empire.

By contrast, the Ming dynasty in China began once more to practice privatization, especially with regards to their manufacturing industries. This was a reversal of the earlier Song dynasty policies, which had themselves overturned earlier policies in favor of more rigorous state control.

In ancient India, they were dedicated to achieve the highest ideals of complete human development that included physical, mental, spiritual development as well as leading to God-realization.

There was a time when corruption was only in Government offices, private institutions, police stations etc. But, now days, corruption has spread its roots in educational system also. Now schools are not a temple of education but they have become the shops of poor quality education.

However the corruption in education is not only prevailing in India but is also observed in many other countries like Brazil as in appointment, deployment and payment of teachers , Indonesia as in ghost teachers , Philippines production and distribution of textbooks , Mauritius private tutoring , and Haiti private use of official cars from the education administration etc. Hallak and Piosson, Corruption can be generally defined as the misuse of office for unofficial ends.

Corrupt acts include but are not limited to bribery, extortion, influence peddling, nepotism, fraud, use of money to bribe government officials to take some specific favour, and embezzlement 5.

Hallak and Poisson, Education System in India currently represents a vast contradiction. In the recent times, many Indian educational institutes are under the clutches of corruption cases.

Emergence of knowledge as driving factor results in both challenges and opportunities. It is now well recognized that the growth of the global economy has increased opportunities for those countries with good levels of education and vice versa Carnoy India has one of the largest higher education systems in the world with around universities and 22, institutions of higher education.

Education is the driving force of economic and social development in any country. Government has allowed to opens self-financing private institutions with recognition, which may be termed as commercial private education institutions. Many private institutions have started courses on many discipline without basic infrastructure and qualified teaching faculties Singh and Purohit — Similarly mushrooming and practices have been noted in engineering, medical, nursing, pharmacy and management discipline and faculties in many private institutions are compelled to sign on affidavit that they are being paid as per UGC Universities Grants Commission scale, although they are not even paid half of what is recommended by the government Singh and Purohit, b.
